Windows Issues

In the pre 0.2.8.4 installer it is also necessary to manually fix the Start menu link if you are on Windows which stores programs in a path containing spaces such as "C:\Program Files" .Pause on the GNUmed entry and right-click on it, choose 'Properties', and insert two pairs of double quotation marks like in this example: "C:\Program Files\GNUmed-client\bin\gnumed.pyw" --conf-file="C:\Program Files\GNUmed-client\gnumed.conf"

For those wishing to run a GNUmed server under Windows, a PostgreSQL improvement in 8.0 obviates the need for a Cygwin port but for those using Cygwin under Windows, see Issues with Cygwin on Windows

There is now a native MS Windows version of the PostgreSQL database. We have successfully set up a gnumed server in Windows only environment. See server installation section for setup information.
